Carl Judge

Carl Judge is your CanDo Member for Yeerongpilly.

Carl is committed to delivering better government for Queenslanders and taking real action for the people of Yeerongpilly.

Married to Melissa and the father of three children, Carl has lived in Yeerongpilly electorate with his family since 2003.

Born and raised in Rockhampton, Carl completed a trade qualification as a motor mechanic and then joined the Queensland Police Service. He has since served as a uniformed police officer and detective across the State over the past 20 years.

Carl's experience working in rural, regional and metropolitan areas has given him a very real understanding of the diverse issues that people face and the experience to take action, tackle problems and improve communities.

He has dealt with serious incidents and natural disasters including major flooding and he understands the devastation and challenges experienced by many families and businesses at Yeerongpilly.  Carl encourages people to support local businesses and jobs in the community.

He has also specialised as a detective in child protection and will work to improve frontline service delivery in all critical areas including health, education, emergency services and child safety.

More recently, Carl has worked in legislation and policy development roles and he knows the importance of ensuring that political responses are based on research and evidence, not political advantage.

Carl also recognises that education and training can create opportunities for people and since completing his trade and becoming a police officer, he has studied externally (after hours) to earn both undergraduate and post graduate qualifications:

·  Advanced Certificate in Policing;
·  Diploma of Public Safety (Policing);
·  Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Police Investigation);
·  Bachelor of Policing;
·  Graduate Certificate in Professional Management; and
·  Master of Human Services Management and Policy.

Carl has real-life experience and CanDo drive and as a part of the CanDo team will bring better, accountable government to Queensland.
