Ian Walker is the Assistant Minister for Planning Reform and the Member for Mansfield.
Ian has a lifetime connection with the southside of Brisbane and a distinguished career in the legal sector.
He and his wife Heather have been married for 30 years and they have 2 adult children.
He has lived here, gone to school here, and was with the East's supporters at Lang Park when Jeff Fyfe kicked the winning field goal in the 1972 Rugby League Grand Final – East's first premiership for 22 years!
Ian commenced his legal career with a prominent Queensland law firm in 1976, becoming a partner in 1984. That firm has grown to become one of the world's 10 largest law firms. Ian has been Managing Partner of the Brisbane Office and lead the firm's Australian Government Practice.
Ian knows that by getting action on the basics and cutting waste, a CanDo government will save money and deliver more. That would mean action to address the rising costs of living as well as delivery of better infrastructure and services for locals.
