Teresa Gambaro was elected as a Liberal member to the House of Representatives from 1996-2007 representing he division of Petrie. She was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Defence and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade. In 2007 She was appointed Assistant Minister for Immigration and Citizenship.

Teresa was born in Brisbane to Italian parents, who operated family small businesses including a corner store, supermarket,restaurant and a  wholesale and exporting business. She attended All Hallows School and holds a Bachelor of Business from the Queensland University of Technology.

Teresa was a Marketing Manager and a Tutor in Marketing at the Queensland University of Technology before entering politics.

She is married to Robert Duffy and has two children
