Peter Matic

Councillor Peter Matic was elected in the 2008 Brisbane City Council elections.

The Toowong Ward comprises the suburbs of Auchenflower, Milton and parts of Bardon, Brisbane, Kelvin Grove, Mt Coot-tha, Paddington, Red Hill, Taringa, The Gap and Toowong.

 

About Peter

Peter Matic has been the Councillor for Toowong since 2007 and has worked hard to make Toowong Ward a better place to live.

 

As a member of Campbell Newman's team, Peter has delivered improvements to local parks, roads and transport infrastructure.

 

Peter has a Bachelor of Arts (in Politics and Economics), Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws and is trained as a Solicitor. He has worked in private practice and the state government. Before his election to Council, Peter worked as a sole practitioner in Toowong.

 

Married with two children, Peter is a member of local community groups and is committed to the issues affecting local residents.

Following the success of Campbell Newman gaining a majority at this years election, Councillor Matic has taken on the important role of Chairman of the Environment, Parks and Sustainability Committee.
