Mackay's New Year's resolution

LNP candidate for Mackay, John Kerslake said Mackay needs a New Year's resolution to make 2012 a fresh start and become a part of the CANDO team.  Mackay has suffered badly under Labor with the local member being seen as completely lazy and absolutely ineffective in delivering a future by people I've spoken with.

Mackay's power bills have gone up by $800 in the past five years despite Anna Bligh's promise at the time that 'no one would be worse off' under Labor's electricity changes.  What has the local Labor member said and done about easing the cost of living, nothing.

In contrast, the LNP will reform electricity tariffs as part of our plans to reduce the cost of living and save the average Queensland family between $250 and $330 a year, her said.

After blowing $220m on a health payroll system that couldn't pay workers properly, now the tired, 20 year old Labor Government has blown another $46 million on a new email system that no one wants to use.  Mackay Health workers still battle with overpayments, and underpayments, again where is the local Labor member?  What has he done or said to these valuable employees, nothing, John Kerslake said.

A CANDO LNP Government will cut waste and restore accountability in government.  I would fight to get Mackay's fair share of funding and services which has been ripped away from the area whilst lazy Labor has taken Mackay for granted.  I believe you don't reward laziness, stupidity and incompetence, which sums up Labor, he said.

The lazy local Labor member will expect the people of Mackay to forgive 16 plus years of poor ineffective representation.  He expects people to forgive the short comings of the Ed Casey Bridge which if built in Brisbane would have street lighting, pedestrian access and be accessible when it rains.  I believe the people of Mackay need to send lazy Labor a clear message that they will not be taken for granted, he said.

The people of Mackay know lazy Labor sold Queensland's future, its assets in Q-Rail, airports and port infrastructure to pay the massive 85 billion dollars in debt that we will have in 2 years due to complete incompetence.  Lazy Labor provides Mackay's new hospital only on the back of asset sales, talk about no planning for the future.  The current hospital needed urgent replacement a decade ago and all we received was a dodgy redevelopment, John Kerslake said.

Lazy Labor, asleep at its desk in Brisbane walked away from Mackay years ago and now expects Mackay to vote Labor.  My question is, to the Labor member for Mackay, will you serve a whole term in Parliament if re-elected, even if in opposition?  Will you deliver a future for Mackay or continue to as you have?  In my opinion Mackay deserves better and desperately needs better, he said.

How long would these clowns last in private enterprise, would you hire them to work for you?  If the answer is NO then I ask again, Mackay needs a New Year resolution.  Mackay needs to be part of the CANDO team to return the towns liveability, vote LNP and have John Kerslake representing you.

Only an LNP Government with John Kerslake in Mackay will get our town back on track.
