Shadow Minister heads to Southport

Candidate for the State Seat of Southport Rob Molhoek, together with LNP's Shadow Minister for Main Roads, Fisheries and Marine Infrastructure Mark Robinson yesterday headed to Guardian Angels Primary School to discuss the ongoing issues surrounding Edmund Rice Drive.

Following the rapid expansion of Griffith University without any increased car parking facilities, Edmund Rice Drive has unfortunately transformed from a quiet street to a parking mecca threatening the safety of school students.

Kirra Report long overdue

Jann Stuckey MP, Member for Currumbin, is encouraging Currumbin residents to have their say on a long-awaited report into options to restore Kirra Beach.

"A feasibility study was announced in July 2009 to investigate four options to improve the current sand build-up at Kirra and long-term operation of the Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypassing Project (TRESBP)," Ms Stuckey said.

Stuckey Stands Up For Robbery Victims

Jann Stuckey, Member for Currumbin, stood up for the victims of recent armed robberies across the Gold Coast during debate on the Bligh Government's Weapons Amendment Bill in state Parliament this week.

The Weapons Amendment Bill proposed changes to definitions of certain weapons and increased penalties for misuse of weapons, but its main target is law-abiding licensed shooters, not criminals using illegal firearms.
