Small businesses will be able to raise their concerns, thoughts and ideas directly with the Shadow Minister and local candidate Saxon Rice. Jann and Saxon want to hear from owners and operators about the issues affecting small business in Brisbane's inner city and western suburbs.
Backing up the field evidence that the retail community is doing it tough, the latest Sensis Business Index shows small business profitability at an 18 year low.
"Red tape and over-regulation under the long-term Labor government is choking small business," Ms Stuckey said. "It's stifling enterprise and business activity, destroying incentive and job creation".
Ms Rice said the pending carbon tax is also causing concern for retail viability in the inner-west. "Retailers and small business keep raising concerns about how higher energy costs and input cost increases will make difficult business conditions even worse," she said.
"That's what this forum is all about – encouraging small business to highlight red tape issues, carbon tax impacts, and the minefield of regulation they currently have to endure so we can find ways to reduce regulatory burden for business."
Ms Stuckey and Ms Rice said the LNP is committed to the small business sector and determined to ensure that government makes it easier, not harder, for small business to prosper and grow.
Small business owners/operators who wish to attend the event at 6pm on Wednesday October 5th, should RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 3368 1965.
