More spin from Labor's Cameron Dick on the Camp Hill Police Station

CanDo LNP candidate for Greenslopes Ian Kaye said the recent announcement by Labor's Cameron Dick that the Camp Hill Police Station will remain open is nothing more than another example of Labor spin.

Mr Kaye said despite the State Traffic Task Force and the Forensic Crash Unit being stationed at Camp Hill, the station would not be open to the public and the station would not be providing police on the beat for the local area.

Mr Kaye said the State Traffic Task Force concentrates on traffic enforcement on major roads all around Queensland while the Forensic Crash Unit attends serious road and other crashes only.

Neither of these units will perform general policing duties in the local area.

"There will be no general duties police, no public counter and the public will not be able to contact or rely on police at Camp Hill station in times of emergency and need" Mr Kaye said.

"Not having local general duties police stationed at Camp Hill would increase response times to the area with the residents of Camp Hill relying on police to come from stations many kilometres away" Mr Kaye said.

"Any claim that the Camp Hill Police Station will remain open to serve the local community is more spin to cover up that Camp Hill police station is closing as a local station with no local general duties police stationed there." Mr Kaye said

Mr Kaye said that Labor's Cameron Dick and the Labor State Government weren't serious about law and order.
