Mr Peter Dowling MP, State Member for Redlands said he was frustrated that the funding announcement to dredge the channel between Victoria Point and Coochiemudlo Island would take two years or more to deliver.

Mr Dowling said, "It is absurd that it should take so long to get critical infrastructure delivered, with as many as 15 services to be disrupted over the next two months alone!"

LNP Shadow Minister for Education Mr Bruce Flegg MP advised that the Labor Government have a proposal where millions of dollars will be offered now, to hundreds of State School teachers who will lose their positions in the State School sector at the end of 2014, when Year 7 transition to High School.

Mr Peter Dowling MP, State Member for Redlands said he was in total amazement and disappointed yet again at the absolute waste from Labor who are prepared to allocate $25 million dollars for up to 500 teachers to be made redundant now, a total of 36 months before the 2015 transition date.

The LNP Shadow Minister for Education Mr Bruce Flegg MP stated that the Labor Government are trying to spin the fact that a school at 100% capacity and about to experience approximately a 20% increase in enrolments in just over two years time is somehow acceptable.

Mr Peter Dowling MP, State Member for Redlands said he was concerned that the Labor Government would even think that this is suitable, especially in the Redlands Electorate.

LNP State Member for Redlands Peter Dowling today confirmed that Labor has announced that traffic lights are going in at the Anita Street and Cleveland-Redland Bay Roads intersection at Redland Bay.

Mr Dowling said that after a tireless fight and campaign to have the intersection upgraded and his continued badgering on behalf of residents to the Minister for Main Roads, the fight has been won and the impact from the local community should be nothing short of victory celebrations.

Roadworks from Boundary Street, Redland Bay right through to Ziegenfusz Road, Thornlands is a sign that safer roads are a now a priority said the LNP today.

Mr Peter Dowling MP, State Member for Redlands said that after years of neglect by the Labor government he feels he has had a big win for the local community with roadworks commencing in his electorate from Ziegenfusz Road, Thornlands through to Boundary Street, Redland Bay.

Redland City Council's withdrawal from Allconnex Water would deliver no savings to Redlands residents, the LNP warned today.

LNP Member for Redlands Peter Dowling said council would operate the water business, but would still have to buy bulk water at whatever price the State Labor Government set.

LNP Candidate for Greenslopes Ian Kaye today said the Labor State Government and local Labor member Cameron Dick need to consult with the local community in Coorparoo when deciding on the design of the new high rise building at Coorparoo Junction.

Labor inflicts more pain on Lytton Residents

Residents in Lytton will pay at least $110 more each year in household electricity bills, LNP Candidate for Lytton, Neil Symes said today.

"Residents in Wynnum, Manly, Lytton and Hemmant are sick of being fleeced by this wasteful and debt ridden Labor Government. Today's 6.6% price rise comes on top of a recent report noting Queensland electricity and gas prices have increased by 63% in the last five years.
