LNP will fix dangerous local traffic hot spot

Leader of the LNP Campbell Newman and Dale Shuttleworth, LNP Candidate for Ferny Grove, have announced that if elected, an LNP government will improve safety for pedestrians and drivers accessing the Keperra Sanctuary Retirement village.

Mr Newman gave the commitment to upgrade the entrance and install traffic lights at the village during a visit to Keperra Sanctuary last week.

Mr Shuttleworth, said he was delighted to help local residents achieve greater road and pedestrian safety.

"This section of Samford Road poses real risks to both pedestrians and motorists, made worse by the fact that motorists are often driving into the sun, further reducing vision.

"These traffic signals are great news for the over 300 residents at Keperra Sanctuary. They eliminate all need to make a dangerous U-Turn manoeuvre across peak hour traffic. It is too, a great solution for all pedestrians crossing Samford Road to use the Keperra Street bus stop.

"'As part of the CanDo LNP team, I will continue to fight for the local residents of Ferny Grove and ensure they have an effective local voice." Mr Shuttleworth said.
