Labor MP offers lies, LNP delivers real action

Published in Moreton Written by Scott Driscoll

LNP candidate for Redcliffe, Scott Driscoll has hit back at accusations peddled at a taxpayer funded cocktail party at the opening of the Labor MP's new taxpayer funded ocean view luxury suites, that the LNP would not be delivering on the Moreton Bay Rail Link.

"The Labor MP for Redcliffe clearly has nothing to offer the region besides more Labor lies and its disgraceful that this is the same person who stood up at the candidates meeting for the last state election and said that this rail line for the Redcliffe region was not one of her priorities and should not be a state Labor funded policy for Redcliffe," said Mr Driscoll.

Labor off the rails with more broken promises

LNP Candidates for Kallangur Trevor Ruthenberg and LNP Candidate for Morayfield Darren Grimwade are demanding that the State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan and State Member for Kallangur Mary-Anne O'Neill come clean on delays to the upgrade of the Narangba Train Station.

"Work was expected to start nearly a year ago after statements from local Labor MP's, but as we have come to expect from Labor, this is another  broken promise in a long litany of broken promises like the sale of Queensland assets.

Labor admits broken promise on AJ Wyllie Bridge

Published in Moreton Written by Seath Holswich

Labor has broken a commitment to local residents to deliver a new AJ Wylie Bridge by the end of 2012, local LNP candidates said today.

"Labor have repeatedly said that they would be delivering the AJ Wyllie Bridge by late 2012 (weather permitting). This week's admission that the construction of the temporary pedestrian bridge is running two months behind the schedule they outlined in July is a devastating blow to local residents and businesses," said Mr Seath Holswich, LNP Candidate for Pine Rivers.

Last weekend's wild hail storms across some of our region should act as a timely reminder for all residents to prepare now for the summer storm and flood season, local LNP candidates said today.

"Last summer showed us that there's no place for complacency as we head into summer," said Mr Seath Holswich, LNP Candidate for Pine Rivers. "We each need to prepare for the worst case scenario ahead of time to ensure the safety of our loved ones as well as our property and belongings."

Local LNP Candidates are calling on Labor to make the AJ Wyllie Bridge project progress available for viewing by the general public, amidst growing frustration from local residents and businesses about the slow progress of the project.

Mr Trevor Ruthenberg, LNP Candidate for Kallangur has called on the Labor State Government stop politicising the bridge issue and be publically accountable for the progress of the project. "Residents were told at a public meeting in July that regular communication would take place to keep locals informed of the project's progress," Mr Ruthenberg said.

Labor trip up on pedestrian bridge

The potential safety hazard caused by Labor's new AJ Wyllie Bridge temporary pedestrian bridge is just another example of poor State Government planning, local LNP candidates said today.

Mr Seath Holswich, LNP Candidate for Pine Rivers, said today: "Labor have got themselves in a bind over the AJ Wyllie Bridge. They've presented to the public a horrendously inadequate option for a temporary pedestrian bridge, but to change their mind now will cause an unacceptable delay to the overall bridge project."
