Flinders River AG precinct - vision for the future

"I would like to congratulate the vision and drive of those involved in the development of the Flinders River Ag Precinct Project," said Mr Pattel.

This project is supported by the Flinders, Richmond and McKinlay Shires and involves the development of mosaic irrigation along the Flinders River. It is aimed at existing and new irrigators who have access to suitable river land and water along the Flinders River.

This will fit well with the LNP Agriculture Strategy which has stated, "We will work with peak bodies, farmers and communities to implement a strategy aiming to double Queensland production by 2040", said Mr Pattel.

The LNP believes it is essential for Queensland to have a prosperous and productive agricultural sector. This project is just the sort of project that could be considered as a part of the LNP Strategy for Agriculture.

"The 4 Pillars of the LNP for getting Queensland back on track are Agriculture, Construction, Resources and Tourism. Only the LNP has such a plan to return Queensland to the prosperity that it deserves," Mr Pattel said.
