The CanDo LNP Agriculture Strategy.

"As any good farmer would know, being successful in farming is all about preparation, preparation, and preparation. So with that in mind the LNP is preparing for the future and its farmers of Queensland," Mr Pattel said.

"The LNP will make agriculture a central pillar of our economy once more and get Queensland back on track with a real plan for our State's future. This will include a stand alone Department of Agriculture."

Mr Pattel said, "The LNP values the need to build a stronger future for farmers, with a focus on increasing production of food, building export opportunities, and clearly outlining the rules in protecting our strategic cropping lands, while maintaining a balance with mining, urban development and agricultural."

"By getting the balance right, we in the agricultural sector, in regional and remote areas, can create a brighter future for this important part of Queensland's economy. With the correct priority and planning we will put primary industries back to its rightful and valued position," Mr Pattel said.

The LNP will work with a plan for the next 30 years, and understands the importance of working closely with peak bodies, farmers and communities, whilst encouraging and attracting new investment, job opportunities, and facilitating new infrastructure to support agriculture.

"The LNP will work towards improving agriculture skills and career pathways. Promotion of agricultural sciences, agricultural economics and biosciences as professional pathways for rural and urban young people are all part of the LNP plan for Agriculture. This includes improvement of the profile and prestige of graduate careers, school based apprenticeships and traineeships in food production, and introduce more recognised apprenticeships into the agriculture sector," Mr Pattel said.
