Four members of the Kawana Senior Citizens have been recognised for their contribution to the Kawana electorate over the past year.

Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson has affirmed her belief that light rail to Maroochydore instead of heavy rail made more sense.
Ms Simpson, as Shadow Minister for Waste Watch, said "the LNP took to the last election a plan to convert CAMCOS from heavy rail to light rail which allowed it to be sequenced similar to the Gold Coast light rail project. Labor instead won the election and chose to waste $1.1 billion on failed local water projects which had no business cases. That's a criminal waste which robs our local community and all of Queensland who are paying the price."
Glen Elmes MP, Member for Noosa, is encouraging local small business owners to have a say on how excessive red tape and overregulation are affecting their business.
"Many small businesses in Noosa are suffering under onerous regulations and red tape imposed by a State Labor Government obsessed with bureaucracy and paper shuffling," Glen Elmes said.

News of $1.9m in funding for new cycle lanes along David Low Way from Williams Street in Coolum to Emu Mountain Road has been welcomed by State MP Fiona Simpson however she has called on the State Government not to delay.
Although the State Government has announced funding for this project, Ms Simpson is concerned that there is no indication of when the construction of cycle facilities is due to begin.
Glass House MP, Andrew Powell has expressed frustration that Department of Transport and Main Roads crews have abandoned work on the Palmwoods-Montville Road to focus on other projects.
"I'd like to think I've been very patient with TMR on this project – but enough is enough. This road has been closed since March 2010 and the contractors are still only up to the design stage.
For two years, residents at the Island Point Villas complex on Kawana Way have been fighting for a safer entrance/exit point to their complex and better access to public transport services.
