Caloundra Road speed limit change in place

The speed limit of Caloundra Road has now been changed.

Earlier this month, the Department of Transport and Main Roads advised that the speed limit of Caloundra Road would be changed, from 80 km/h to 100 km/h from the Racecourse Road interchange to the Kawana Way Link Road roundabout.

Sunshine Coast kids would be the winners of an LNP announcement today to boost Prep teacher aide time across Queensland.

Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said the $54 million pledge would revitalise front line education services where it was most needed in Prep by providing a significant increase to Prep teachers and their time supporting young children.

Bus station goes to grass

Maroochydore MP Fiona Simpson has asked for a please explain from the State Labor Government over its turfing of the Maroochydore bus station construction site.

Ms Simpson said the expenditure of hundreds of dollars or more on turfing the site was another example of a waste of money due to a poorly managed project, which Labor had pushed back.

Noosa Greens trash the environment

Comments today by the Noosa Greens candidate that would see Noosa's signage policy trashed and allow almost open slather to erect election signs throughout Noosa, have been slammed by the LNP Member for Noosa Glen Elmes.

"In other electorates on the Sunshine Coast, State candidates are able to display 40 corflute signs.  Council candidates can erect 20 each within their division.  With 6 candidates vying to become the next State Member for Noosa, the Green's proposal would see up to 240 signs erected almost overnight throughout our community.

Flegg and Powell heard the message loud and clear

The Woodford community took the opportunity to attend an open forum in Woodford last night, organised by local LNP Member Andrew Powell MP, to discuss their desire to expand the current P-10 school to incorporate Year 11 and 12.

Mr Powell had arranged for local Councillor Adrian Raedel and community member Michelle Hewitt to attend the meeting and share their experience with those present.  Shadow Minister for Education, Dr Bruce Flegg MP, was also invited to hear first hand the challenges faced by this tight knit community.

LNP pledges 1100 new front line police
