Sunshine Coast mothers and their children have won a boost from the LNP's newly announced "Mums and Bubs" policy which will see maternal health nurses visiting new parents at home to provide much needed support.

LNP pledges more funding for Kawana community groups

The LNP today pledged $4 million to support Queensland community groups with grants up to $5000 and volunteer groups with grants up to $15,000 through its Caring for our Community program.

LNP Member for Kawana, Jarrod Bleijie said the LNP's Caring for our Community program would provide community and volunteer groups with $4 million for small grants over three years to help them buy equipment to support Queenslanders in need.

LNP pledges more funding for local community groups

Member for Maroochydore and Shadow Minister for Community Services Fiona Simpson says the LNP's $4 million pledge to support Queensland community groups with grants up to $15,000 through its Caring for our Community program was a boost for volunteer groups.

Sunshine Coast families struggling with rising living costs would receive help to get kids into sport under LNP's "Get in the Game" policy.

Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson welcomed news of the LNP's Tourism Strategy which will help boost the Sunshine Coast and Queensland aviation industry.

An LNP Government will allocate $8 million to a "Attracting Aviation Fund" to secure new aviation business and routes in to Queensland as well as to enhance existing partnerships.  This will boost Queensland's tourism industry by attracting more international tourists through our airports.

State LNP MP Fiona Simpson says better management of the Maroochy River Conservation Park  is a priority for the LNP in Government after the State Labor Government had failed to undate the 1999 Management Plan for the park.

Ms Simpson said she had been pursuing the current Minister for failing to update this plan and get community input on key issues that need to be addressed.

Elmes gets his $6.5 million for Eumundi-Noosa road

LNP Member for Noosa, Glen Elmes said today that on the eve of the State Election, the Government announced that funding had finally been approved for major roadworks to rehabilitate the worst section of Eumundi-Noosa Road.

"I started campaigning back in 2007 to have this road extensively rehabilitated due to its poor condition and I have had to watch its steady deterioration since then.

SMALL Businesses seeking to grow Sunshine Coast jobs have received a boost with the LNP's economic blueprint released today, focusing on cutting payroll tax, red tape and regulation.

Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said it was time for government to get off the back of small businesses who were the real job creators.
