All invited to Andrew Powell's campaign launch

Published in Sunshine Coast Written by Andrew Powell

Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP will kick off his re-election campaign for the seat of Glass House in an all day launch on Saturday 4 February 2012.

"Glass House is such a large electorate that the only way of making sure we reach as many of our main towns as possible is to make it a whole day event.

The final stage of the Claymore Road footpath in Sippy Downs has been completed ready for the start of the school year.

Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie and Sunshine Coast Division 6 Councillor Christian Dickson will open the project this Friday (tomorrow).

Heavy rainfall throughout the Sunshine Coast, and in particular the Hinterland, since Monday has caused yet another slip to occur on Palmwoods-Montville Road.

Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell has been working with the community and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to get this road reconstructed after landslips caused the road closure back in 2010.

Although welcome, the announcement that the Bligh Labor Government's Coast Connect project has been delayed will add further uncertainty to the residents and business owners along Nicklin Way and Main Drive.

Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie said that further uncertainty over the project is the last thing that business owners needed right now. This project is already costing business money.
