Premier Trifles with the Truth - Bennett

Published in Wide Bay Written by Stephen Bennett

Premier Anna Bligh has trifled with people's lives – as well as the truth – when she falsely claimed today that Queensland's hospital emergency waiting times were right up with the best in Australia.

LNP Candidate for Burnett Stephen Bennett said her statement contradicted the findings of an independent Productivity Commission report, which revealed that Queensland lags behind the national average.

Communities and industries throughout the Burnett will flourish under an LNP government according to candidate Stephen Bennett, who outlined his vision for the region today.

"Our area plays a critical role in the prosperity of this State and indeed this nation, with our quality agricultural produce, world-class manufacturers, unique tourist attractions and dynamic businesses," he said.

Recent heavy rainfall and associated flooding of Discovery Coast roads has underlined the importance of the LNP's commitment to properly fund regional road networks.

LNP candidate for Burnett Stephen Bennett has pushed the need to fix roads throughout the region, particularly those north of Bundaberg.

Queenslanders are going to the polls on Saturday, 24 March and LNP Candidate for Burnett Stephen Bennett is ready to take on the task of getting Queensland back on track.

"The only way to get a change for the better in our local area is to vote for the LNP. Parking a vote with an Independent or minor party candidate will only help Anna Bligh keep her awful grip on power in Queensland," Mr Bennett said.
