March 24, bring it on: Bennett

Queenslanders are going to the polls on Saturday, 24 March and LNP Candidate for Burnett Stephen Bennett is ready to take on the task of getting Queensland back on track.

"The only way to get a change for the better in our local area is to vote for the LNP. Parking a vote with an Independent or minor party candidate will only help Anna Bligh keep her awful grip on power in Queensland," Mr Bennett said.

"The LNP has a clear agenda and a united team, and we have made a rock solid commitment to address the issues that concern local families, seniors and business operators.

"Our plan for government focuses on the issues that Queenslanders have told us are most important to them.

"The LNP team has a solid plan to strengthen the economy to support small business and create jobs, which will restore confidence in our great state.

"The LNP's sound policies will also lower the cost of living, improve standards in schools, build safer communities and deliver better health care."

Mr Bennett and his LNP team have an action plan to:

*Grow a four pillar economy by focusing on Tourism, Resources, Agriculture and Construction

* Lower the cost of living for families by cutting waste

* Deliver better infrastructure and better planning

* Revitalise front line services for families

* Restore accountability in government

"This tired 20 year old Labor government has lost direction. It is out of ideas and out of touch with the goals and aspirations of Queenslanders," he said.

"Our local unemployment rate is one of the highest in the nation, the cost of living has gone through the roof, Labor has lost our AAA credit rating, and the Labor government keeps putting its hands into the pockets of taxpayers to service the $85 billion debt they are running up.

"The Bligh Labor Government has failed Queenslanders.  Soon after the last State election Anna Bligh and Labor broke their promise to keep the fuel subsidy and keep state assets.

"They have proven they cannot be trusted.

"It's time to cut the waste, better manage government spending and deliver services for local families.

"It's time for a change . It's time to get Queensland back on track".
