Better deal for agriculture under LNP

Mr Bennett said agriculture was a major contributor to Queensland's economy and would have an even bigger role under the LNP.

LNP candidate for Burnett Stephen Bennett has called on Labor Candidate Stuart Tomlinson to finally admit Labor's carbon tax is bad news for local residents, after the Bligh government was forced to admit there will be a near billion dollar hit on State finances over the next three years.

Mr Bennett said the Bligh government's mid-year budget update exposed an $883 million shortfall from government-owned corporations out to 2014/15, as a result of carbon tax.

LNP team keeps up the fight for safer roads

The LNP's commitment to fixing the Bruce Highway will come under the local spotlight today when Shadow Infrastructure and Transport Minister Warren Truss visits the scene of a recent accident near Childers.

Member for Hinkler Paul Neville and LNP candidate for Burnett Stephen Bennett will show Mr Truss the site where two trucks collided just over a week ago near the intersection of the highway and North South Road, and nominate it as a black spot which needs fixing.
