Neil Symes is your CanDo Member for Lytton.
Neil Symes is the youngest member of the Can Do Queensland team and an active advocate for lowering the cost of living for families, supporting the fishing industry in Moreton Bay, empowering small business within Lytton, and petitioning for better health and education services for people of Lytton and Queensland.
Neil has been heavily involved in the community and the Liberal National Party. Neil campaigned in the seat of Mansfield during the 2009 State Election and in Bonner at last year’s federal election. He has also actively campaigned against Anna Bligh’s Fuel Tax.
Neil attended Griffith University and graduated with a double Bachelor Degree in Criminology and Human Services, majoring in Child Protection and Family Studies. He has worked at the Acacia Ridge and Districts Community Centre in Brisbane's South-West working as a community engagement officer with the Indigenous and African migrant communities. He also had a pivotal role in organising the multicultural festival, Party on in the Park, in 2009.
Until recently, Neil was Area Coordinator for Neighbourhood Watch in Brisbane's Southside. Neil has a proven track record in helping the community and has formed strong bonds throughout Brisbane’s southern suburbs with various associations.
