It's time for a change, It's time to get QLD Back on Track

The only way to get Queensland back on track is to vote for a strong Can Do LNP Government with positive plans to grow a four pillar economy and lower the cost of living for families by cutting waste, LNP Leader Campbell Newman said today.

With the election campaign officially underway today, Mr Newman said it was time for a change and the LNP needed Queenslanders' support to deliver that change.

"Queenslanders have endured 20 years of excuses and political promises. We have heard them spoken and broken time and again.  Labor is a broken record and the song is always the same," he said.

"We need strong action now, not more empty promises and political tricks. We need action now to improve our roads, action to improve access to doctors and nurses through decent healthcare, action to reduce crime, action to improve standards in our schools and action on cost of living and ever-increasing bills and taxes.

"The LNP's action plan is clear. It's about less waste and a strong four pillar economy. We'll save you money and deliver you more.

"By contrast Labor MPs and Anna Bligh are trying to escape accountability for a party that has lurched from crisis-to-crisis, selling our assets and throwing taxpayers money at problems. That's a waste of our boom time for little short-term gain.

"With money harder to come by, it's time to better manage the State to make sure we get the full benefit from our resources, assets and the money we all pay.  With global instability we need a clear change.

"My pledge to Queenslanders is simple: I will get things done for Queenslanders."

Mr Newman said the LNP team has a strong plan to change things in Queensland for the better.

"The LNP's four pillar economy plan will make the most of our natural gifts and a boom time that will only come once. We will make sure that our precious resources and income are used wisely and invested in infrastructure, services and diversification across the State for our long-term future.

"My personal pledge to Queenslanders is to commit totally to the job of getting Queensland back on track, to use my experience in business, the military and politics to both plan carefully and act purposefully to make a positive difference.

"And unlike Labor, I'm prepared to be accountable and will hold ministers accountable.

"But change won't happen without you. Change will not happen without your vote. I'm saying to Queenslanders you can only change Queensland by delivering a strong, stable LNP government that can get things done.

"Labor thinks the campaign is once again all about them and their survival. We think differently – we believe this campaign is about making life better for you, better for all Queenslanders.

"But change won't happen by itself. In this campaign we will be asking Queenslanders to join us, to back our candidates across this great State – and together we will get Queensland back on track."
