"Labor are trying to pass off their 'new centre' without mentioning they are simply relocating an old animal health laboratory," Mr Nicholls said.
"Labor is a broken record and local Labor MP Craig Wallace has been caught out with foot-in-mouth disease after this furphy.
"A CanDo LNP Government will commit up to $42 million over four years towards establishing the Australian Institute for Tropical Health and Medicine in conjunction with James Cook University with facilities in Townsville, Cairns, and the Torres Strait.
"We're not talking about cutting biosecurity facilities and dressing them up as 'new' like Labor.
"The Australian Institute for Tropical Health and Medicine will also provide training programs, particularly in disease surveillance and control and risk identification, and help to build an integrated health security network focused on significant biosecurity threats.
"The LNP's positive plan for Queensland will grow a four pillar economy to create jobs for families, as we understand the importance of getting the basics right.
"This vital initiative is part of the LNP's focus on science and technology and our commitment to revitalise frontline health services by delivering much needed health research infrastructure to protect all Queenslanders.
"An LNP government will secure our borders through early detection and response in order to achieve the best health outcomes and protect Queenslanders.
"It's time for a change. It's time to get Queensland back on track."
