Sam Cox

Sam Cox is your CanDo Member for Thuringowa.

Sam Cox is 46 years of age, and has been married for twenty years and has three children. He was born in Home Hill and grew up with two brothers and a sister on the family property ‘Inkerman Station’, south of Home Hill.  The family produced beef cattle and sugar cane.

He attended primary school at Inkerman and Home Hill State Schools and completed  senior schooling as a boarder in Brisbane.

Following school Sam then attended Gatton Agricultural College for two years before returning home to the family business, leaving at times to work in other industries such as water drilling and construction.  He also had jobs employed in hospitality and various other rural related works in the district.  In 1999 with his wife and two year old son they moved to Townsville “where we hope to remain and continue our lives.”

Sam’s initial employment in Townsville commenced with Dalgety’s (Landmark) and Virbac in sales merchandise followed by three years at Magnetic Island where the family owned and ran a small accommodation business.  Since their return to the mainland 15 months ago, Sam has worked in Real Estate in both Rural and Commercial sales.

Sam is committed to provide a positive and approachable service and is also committed to provide the same “Can Do” attitude for the residents of Thuringowa.
