Sean Choat

Sean Choat is your CanDo Member for Ipswich West.

A dedicated community worker and devoted family man, Sean lives in Karalee with his wife Nicola and their three children, Charlotte, Benjamin and Eloise.

As a long time local he is familiar with the cost of living challenges faced by residents of the Ipswich West electorate.

With a successful career in  vocational education and training Sean believes technical skills are critical for a strong economy and for creating jobs.

Sean has a keen interest in fighting for local issues.  He has lobbied with local parents on important matters such as a much needed high school for the Karalee-Mt Crosby district and saving Blackstone State School.  In late 2010 he worked successfully with the Save Our Buses Group to demand reinstatement of bus services scrapped by the Bligh Government.

Sean has been heavily involved in flood recovery, providing help for local people affected by January's devastating floods.  In June 2011 he received an award from the State for his efforts.

He understands the pressure that the rising cost of living is putting on Queenslanders, and believes the Government must act to reduce the cost of utilities such as power and water.  He is concerned about Labor's asset sell-off, having been directly affected by the sale of QR.

As the CanDo Member for Ipswich West, Sean is committed to cutting the waste and making this great state 'Can Do' Queensland
