Ted Sorensen

Ted Sorensen is your Member for Hervey Bay. 

Ted was the Mayor of Hervey Bay for two terms, 2000 to 2008 and was voted onto the local council from 1994, where he served as a councillor and Deputy Mayor.  Ted was elected to State Parliament in 2009.  Since then, the LNP elected him to the Deputy Opposition Whip position in March 2010.

Ted's family are pioneers of the Hervey Bay area spanning some five generations. Ted was born and educated in Hervey Bay where he was a keen sportsman playing Rugby League, coaching and umpiring softball. Ted earned a living as a pastoralist, married and raised his family in Hervey Bay and still lives on the property with his wife Jenny.

Ted serves the electorate of Hervey Bay in the Queensland Parliament as a passionate LNP member. Ted has seen the neglect of the electorate by the Labor government from his experiences in the local government arena.  Ted is ardent about standing up for his constituents, by making a real difference in improving the lifestyle of the great region of Hervey Bay.
