Vale Dr John Herron AO

The Government’s focus on flood recovery continues with the Prime Minister in Townsville again this morning to announce additional assistance for local governments affected by the floods to help remove dead cattle.

The PM also visited Lavarack Barracks and discussed help for small businesses with Phillip Thompson our Herbert candidate.

Dr John Herron AO’s State Funeral was held today for former federal minister, Liberal Party senator and President of the Liberal Party in Queensland. Read more about the incredible life of Dr Herron here.

Deb and her team have really taken the fight up to Labor this week, especially over their treatment of subbies and Jackie Trad’s selling out of Queensland mining jobs.

Our federal campaigns are really hitting their straps. With just weeks to go, please make sure you’re doing everything you can to keep Shorten from ruining Australia.

Deb’s Queensland Report

Protecting Queensland’s subcontractors is a key election issue for the LNP.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government has failed to prosecute a major building company after more than four years in office and more than 50 companies have collapsed as a result.

Thousands of subcontractors are now out-of-pocket and business confidence is at rock bottom under Annastacia Palaszczuk.

A Commission of Inquiry is needed with the full powers of a Royal Commission and that is what the LNP have vowed to do.

Enough is enough. We need to fix this system.

Annastacia Palaszczuk’s priorities are all wrong and it was shocking to hear Labor’s Deputy Premier Jackie Trad telling coal workers they need to ‘reskill’ in Parliament this week.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government are completely out of touch.

Tens of thousands of Queenslanders rely on this industry for jobs. It pours billions into our economy. It builds the schools, the hospitals, the roads we need in this state.

This week in Parliament we also saw Labor vote against the LNP’s plan to air condition every state school classroom in Queensland.

I want our kids to have the best education, but it’s hard to work in a sweltering classroom.

Air-conditioning has been called for by the Queensland Teachers Union, P&Cs Queensland, and mums and dads.

We will take our plan to air condition every state school classroom to the next election and let Queenslanders decide.

The LNP understand the importance of investing in schools and hospitals for Queenslanders.

Instead of investing in regional hospitals, Labor has been handing out do-it-yourself birthing kits.

This shocking decision highlights the bush baby crisis under Annastacia Palaszczuk.

Pregnant women in regional and remote communities should not have to be their own midwife.

These third world-style kits are both disturbing and incredibly dangerous.

The last year of school is such an exciting time with so much to look forward to.

Proud to present badges to these motivated and intelligent Southport State High School students alongside Sam O’Connor MP.

Thanks so much to the Hit105 brekkie team, Stav, Abby & Matt for joining in on a pretty special Parliament lunch on Thursday this week.

Lots of political talk… (and maybe Married At First Sight Australia too).
