Cynthia Hardy elected Acting VP

State Executive has unanimously endorsed Cynthia Hardy as Acting Vice President of the LNP.
Given the forthcoming Federal election, State Executive was of the view that it was important to fill all the senior positions in the Party to ensure that we have the strongest possible representation both on our central campaign committee and for our fundraising efforts.
Many of you will know Cynthia as our Regional Chair for the South West Region. She will continue in this role in conjunction with her new role of Acting Vice President. Cynthia lives in Toowoomba with her husband Ben and has held many positions including SEC Chair of Toowoomba South, Groom FDC Secretary and has worked on many campaigns and been a member of campaign executive teams.

Congratulations Cynthia!

Today State Executive passed a resolution to put Jackie Trad last in whichever electorate she nominates for at the next State Election. The Deputy Premier is public enemy number 1 in the bush and regional Queensland with her support of draconian vegetation management laws and her desire to shut down coal mining in Queensland. Her agenda will destroy jobs in Central and North Queensland and rip apart communities that rely on it. Jackie Trad is no friend of Queensland workers and their families.

This weekend, Latitudes North is being held in Townsville. Latitudes North is the premier policy development conference in Northern Australia held in conjunction with our State Executive meeting. Thank you in advance for your attendance and contributions over this coming weekend. We’ll report back to Members next week about our progress over this weekend.

Deb’s Queensland Report

One of the LNP’s proudest achievements was smashing the bikie  gangs that brought drugs and shootings to the streets of Queensland.

Sadly, our work has been undone by Annastacia Palaszczuk.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen bikie-related firebombings, shootings and bashings across the South-East.

There’s no doubt the bikies are back, but as usual the Premier is in denial – just watch this video.

The only way to beat the bikies again will be by electing an LNP Government in 2020.

This weekend I’ll be speaking at the LNP Latitudes North event in Townsville – another area that is suffering a Labor-made crimewave.

Robberies have soared by 113 per cent since Annastacia Palaszczuk became Premier and car theft is up 52 per cent.

Labor isn’t backing up the police with extra resources – but I will.

The LNP will fund a new police helicopter for North Queensland if we win the next election … and we’ll have it in the air as a priority.

Townsville has been lied to and let down by Labor.

My shadow cabinet met in the city earlier today (FRIDAY) to discuss how we can support North Queensland.

I’ll have more to say on this in my Latitudes North speech tomorrow (SATURDAY).

You can watch it live on my Facebook page here (www.facebook.com/DebFrecklingtonMP/)  at 1.20pm.

This week we’ve heard more disturbing news from Queensland Rail.

QR was Australia’s best-run rail service under the LNP, but Labor have run it into the ground.

It’s been revealed that drivers are being coached through vital safety tests – putting passengers at risk.

It just proves that unions come first and safety second under the Palaszczuk Labor Government.
