I am lucky enough to have grown up locally and now, along with my wife Madeline and young son Theodore, we have chosen to raise our own family here. Our community has a liveability that we not only cherish but that we must fight for. Working hard to ensure we protect our local way of life is what drives me everyday to serve my community.
Growing up, I experienced the world through the eyes of a small business family and I know there is no substitute for hard work. With my parents, I witnessed first hand the sacrifices and dedication it takes to make small business a success and why it is so important that Government policies support aspiration, not hinder it.
Having completed a Masters of Journalism at the University of Queensland, it was my desire to serve my community that led me to seek election at the 2010 by-election for the Ward of Walter Taylor in the Brisbane City Council which lies entirely within the federal seat of Ryan. As a local Councillor I already have experience working to protect our area by delivering new road infrastructure that gets you home safely to your families; creating new parks so our greenspace isn’t overcrowded; starting new community organisations to give our neighbours the support they need and strengthening planning requirements to protect the character of our suburbs
With the help of my local plan and the Coalition Governments investments I will get you home to your families sooner, keep more money in your pocket where it belongs and help our local cafes and small businesses survive.
I hope to be able to catch up with you soon!
