Fraser admits to being a sneaky leaker

Queensland business can't have any confidence in this tired, 20 year old Labor Government after Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser admitted he leaked private documents to the media and would "do it again," the State Opposition said today.

Deputy Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls said Mr Fraser's admission will further erode business' confidence in Labor, whose credibility is already at rock bottom after the loss of the AAA credit rating and increased taxes and charges.

"It is absolutely extraordinary that the man in charge of the state's budget who is supposed to be working closely with business and industry leaders every day has admitted he leaks private information for his own political gain and will do it again," Mr Nicholls said.

"Queenslanders are entitled to question Labor's priorities when Andrew Fraser could leak a confidential letter to the media within minutes of ripping open the envelope, but are happy to wait 14 hours before issuing a public warning a sex offender was on the loose.

"Similarly, this week we've learnt Stephen Robertson's office blocked the release of important flood information requested by the Brisbane City Council and Vicky Darling's department kept details of environmental breaches on the Fitzroy River secret.

"Today we also learn Anna Bligh now has to finally fess up to what she knew about dam releases after being compelled to provide a statement to the flood inquiry.

"When it suits his political advantage, Andrew Fraser is a sneaky leaker, but when it is in the public interest, Labor covers up until caught out.

"Is it any wonder the state's finances are in such a mess and Queensland is staring down the barrel of $85 billion debt when Australia's worst Treasurer Andrew Fraser is more interested in being a sneaky leaker and launching Twitter tirades?

"Andrew Fraser has let public funds leak like a sieve, wasting billions and racking up $85 billion in debt and now confirmed he leaks confidential letters when it suits his political agenda. Andrew Fraser and Anna Bligh's Labor simply can't be trusted.

"It's time for a change. It's time to get Queensland back on track."
