Amanda Camm is a long-term local with a passion to serve our community.
Having grown up locally, Amanda has worked in a range of local industries across government and economic development, tourism and travel, mining services and primary production. Amanda has lived and worked across the Whitsunday electorate – as a cane farmer and advocate for the farming and resources sectors, a former Director of Mackay Tourism and Travel Consultant she understands the challenges facing the Tourism sector. Amanda has held many community board positions including Domestic Violence Services and Medical Research.
More recently, Amanda has served the community as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Mackay and is proud to have worked with the community to deliver local projects that have improved the region’s economy and unique lifestyle.
As a working mum, Amanda understands first-hand the pressures facing local families as she is raising a family of her own.
Having worked with small businesses and served as the region’s Deputy Mayor, Amanda believes in building a stronger economy that delivers more jobs, lowering cost of living pressures to help young families.
Amanda is determined to represent the community with her proven ability and ensure the region gets the infrastructure to support growth, including projects that will deliver long-term water security for the region – including the Urannah Dam and New Bradfield Scheme.
