Meet Maggie

Maggie Forrest is a Queensland barrister and Mum raising her family in Chapel Hill with her husband Chris. Maggie grew up in Ryan, she went to Brookfield State School and the University of Queensland in St Lucia.

Ryan isn’t just a seat she hopes to win, it’s her home and it’s her family’s future.

Her career has been driven by one belief: everyone deserves someone in their corner. It’s what led her to study Arts/Law at the University of Queensland, and later criminology and counterterrorism at Cambridge.

That same conviction took her to The Hague, where she helped bring justice to victims of war crimes at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

In Queensland, Maggie joined the Child Safety Commission of Inquiry as a barrister for the State of Queensland, standing up for children the system had failed.

As a working mum, she backs childcare choice. She wants families to have the freedom to make the choices that work for them.

Every day, Maggie hears from local families and small businesses doing it tough with the cost of living, making decisions for them. As part of the Liberal National team, she’ll help restore a strong economy that keeps prices and taxes down, and work to improve roads and public transport across Brisbane’s western and north-western suburbs.

Maggie has spent her career listening to and defending victims, the voiceless and the vulnerable. She’ll do the same for Ryan.
