About Adrian

Adrian de Groot has called our community home for most of his life. A boilermaker by trade, Adrian started an engineering business in North Rockhampton in 1989.

Over the years, Adrian has grown his business and is proud to have trained over 30 apprentices and employed many locals.
Adrian and his wife Debra have raised their two children locally and are now the proud grandparents of six grandchildren.

Having always been driven to give back to his community, Adrian has been a member of the Rockhampton East Rotary Club for over 21 years. Adrian has also served as Director of the Capricorn Helicopter Service for over 23 years, most recently as Chairman of the Board.

As a small business owner, Adrian is familiar with the struggles local businesses face and is driven to build a stronger economy to create more jobs. Adrian is also passionate about water security projects like the New Bradfield Scheme and Rookwood Weir, which will drought-proof Queensland and create jobs, while reducing runoff to the reef.

Now more than ever, we need a strong economic plan to get us through the tough times we are experiencing. Adrian wants to see better investment in infrastructure in the Keppel Electorate, to create more jobs for locals.

That’s why he backs Deb Frecklington’s plan to get Queensland working again.

The LNP has an ambitious plan to stimulate the economy, create a decade of secure jobs and drag Queensland out of this recession.

My vision is to make Queensland the economic powerhouse of Australia once again, the best place to get a job, get ahead and raise a family.

We will start work on the drought busting New Bradfield Scheme a major new economic driver for Queensland, invest in new infrastructure to create more secure jobs and stimulate the economy and we will guarantee no new or increased taxes.

The only way to get Queensland working again - is to change government on October 31st.

It’s about time the regions had someone who understands rural and regional areas. Queensland is not all about what happens in the City and SE corner.

I attended the Sod turning ceremony at Shoal Water Bay today by Lang Orourke to mark the commencement of building permanent infrastructure phase.
Great to see local Keppel businesses involved working at the site as well.
