About Tony

As a director at Hopkins Brothers, Tony has been proud to build a business that has created local jobs and supported road and resource projects. It’s why Tony backs Deb Frecklington’s plan to rebuild Queensland’s economy and fast-track projects that will create long-term jobs in Rockhampton.

Like many locals in Rocky, Tony is beyond frustrated with the do-nothing approach of the Palaszczuk Government and Labor, which puts the regions last. Labor has slashed the capacity of Rookwood Weir by 26,000 megalitres because they’ve failed to manage the economy and have the wrong priorities in government.

We need an LNP government that will back Rockhampton and the region.

Tony Hopkins is proud to be part of Deb Frecklington’s LNP team to get Queensland working again.

**LABOR WON’T RULE OUT TAXING YOU MORE**

Not only will Queensland Labor destroy CQ’s mining jobs, but they won’t rule out creating new taxes.

As part of the LNP team, we have made a commitment to Queenslanders that there will be no new taxes if we’re elected. Unlike Labor, we’ll give Queensland the transparency it deserves and deliver a budget within the first 100 days of being elected.

Central Queenslanders deserve a state government that will back them, back their jobs and get Queensland working again.Today the Palaszczuk Labor Government refused to rule out increasing your taxes if they are elected on October 31.

Labor had no economic plan before coronavirus and still have no economic plan now.

When Labor runs out of money they come after yours.

An LNP Government will provide the economic leadership that Queensland is desperate for.

The LNP will produce a full budget in 100 days.

And we’ve guaranteed no new or increased taxes if elected.

My LNP colleague, Senator Matthew Canavan, hits the nail on the head.

She does not care about her future because she has not got any chance in Queensland

Ok. I have no doubt the AFL came with a plan to play the finals here to the Labor government a long time ago. Hopefully those plans ticked all the relevant boxes to do it safely. And they do have the financial resources to prepare said plan. The unfortunate thing here is, it was easy for the Labor government to accept the plan, because they didn’t have to lift a finger to do it. But with the school kids THEY would have to come up with a plan. They’re hopeless. Wasn’t going to happen. Don’t take away from the AFL. They have done the right thing and worked hard for their brand. The same can’t be said for the government. Although, I would like to say, I do like her hard stance on border controls for the most part. I feel we are in a far better position than NSW and Victoria because of it. Scomo and the rest of the LNP need to back off and stop making it a political grandstand.
